Watercolor with The Masters with Sandra Cointreau

For each class, students will choose an example painting by a master watercolorist and learn how to recreate that painting. If desired, students can choose a painting done by the instructor to begin.

Students will learn about composition, value contrast, color mixing, color choices, the variety of brushes to use, painting techniques of layering and creating texture, and the importance of a focal point. By learning a wide range of styles and approaches that make watercolor dance its dance, each student will find their own preferred style and approach to working with watercolor. The class emphasis will be on painting; no drawing skills are required.
