Creating Light & Values in Acrylic Painting

Running on Thursdays, August 10 – September 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., this open studio workshop is for all levels of acrylic and oil painters with award-winning artist, Anda Styler. The class is designed for students to work at their own pace with the guidance of the instructor in a warm non-judgmental environment.

Classes will begin with a demonstration of color mixing, values, composition, and brush strokes. Acetate overlays will be used as a tool to illustrate various possibilities. This class will focus on understanding the relationship between the values of light and shadows in landscape painting. Anda will supply reference photos prior to class for those students who would prefer to work on the same painting as the instructor.

Students are required to bring their own supplies. Paper towels and water containers are provided.
