GIVE A TREAT. GET A TREAT!
Although this year’s annual trick or treat event at the Southbury Plaza Shopping Center will not be held out of caution for the health of the families and merchants that participate in it the food drive that is held each year for the benefit of the Southbury Food Bank is still on!
A dedicated donation spot has been set up in the front of Catalyst Training Gym through October 31 st , Halloween Day. The public is asked to stop by to drop off nonperishable items into the large buckets that are displayed there.
Items that the food bank is especially in need of include; Pasta sauce, chicken and beef broth, peanut butter, jelly, crackers, mayo, ketchup, oatmeal, applesauce and beef stew.
Free treat bags are being given out, while supplies last, as a thank you to anyone making a donation. This year those bags are stuffed with candy, coloring book , crayons, and other small giveaway treats from some of the Southbury Plaza stores.
