Learn to Play the Ukulele for Grades 6-12!

July 22, 2022 @ 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Free

Want to try an instrument that is fun and easy to play? Come to the Southbury Library and join Julie Stepanek as she shows us the fundamentals of ukulele playing! You’ll learn how to tune, strum and read chords. After a short lesson, you’ll be able to play songs. No experience necessary. Bring your own ukulele or borrow one of hers.

Space is limited, so please register on the library’s website here. Like all the library’s teen events, this is free to attend, open to residents of any town in Grades 6-12, and sponsored by the Friends of the Southbury Public Library.

About the presenter: Julie Stepanek is a singer, songwriter, and musician. Originally from Nebraska, she now makes her home in a pine forest in western Massachusetts and for the last 12 years has been teaching and making music at libraries, schools, and senior centers throughout New England.
