This is just one of many great examples I’ve experienced of what an awesome town Southbury and its people are…

The other day I stopped into Home Town Pizza to grab a couple of slices during lunch time and as I’m walking in, I noticed someone approaching about the same time I was, so I proceeded to hold the door open for them. After he and I went back and forth a couple of times with “please, you go first” he proceeded to go first. Once inside, he then let me order my pizza first, which was super nice of him – so I did. I ordered my two slices, thanked the man, sat down and waited for my two slices to get heated up to perfection. Once my pizza was ready, the server (they’re super nice there) came over and proceeded to tell me that the person behind me had paid for my slices and that I didn’t owe anything. I looked around so I could thank this person but they had left and I started to panic because I don’t like owing people stuff. I went outside and found him in his car getting ready to pull away and asked him if we knew each other. I didn’t recognize him and he didn’t know who I was. He simply said and I’m paraphrasing “You held the door open for me which was nice and so I paid that kindness back”.

Because of this person’s random act of kindness, that’s why we did this.
