Celebrate Earth Day – Redeemable Bottle and Can Redemption Event

Sustainable Southbury, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is partnering with the EyeRecycle organization to host a collection day for redeemable bottles and cans. Beyond helping our environment and keeping our community clean, recycling now comes with even more incentives. Earn cash back for your recycled bottles, and cans — all from the comfort of your car!

Here’s how you can get ready for the Southbury Earth Day redemption event. Collect your redeemable plastic bottles and cans and place them in a large bag. Not sure if it is redeemable? (Look near the barcode or recycle symbol to find the label that says CT 0.05 Cent REFUND.)

Redeemable glass bottles are also accepted. Please place glass in your own small cardboard box or a 6, 12, 18, or 24-pack cardboard carrier (we cannot accept loose glass bottles). No wine or liquor bottles (they are not redeemable).

EyeRecycle will transfer your bottles/cans into their EyeRecycle bag that has a fill line for counting purposes. A full EyeRecycle bag earns $10 cash back, and individual items earn $0.05 per item.
